Star Wars... nothin' but Star Wars

OK, here's some random STAR WARS news...

First, HERE'S a brief article about an upcoming Star Wars live action TV show from the ICV2 website. Sounds GREAT!

And, good news for all the Star Wars purists out there (myself included): They will be releasing STAR WARS on DVD this fall that includes the ORIGINAL CUT without all the added gooey computer-generated junk (like Greedo firing first)... YAYYY! Check out the article HERE. It's about time.

Will they ever release all the films, uncut and untampered with, on DVD? That I would buy.

Personally, I thought Han firing first was the best. It worked as comic relief. If it ain't broke.....

I liked that Han fired first because it showed he really was a scoundrel... a cavalier fighter always looking out for himself... and over the course of the movie he reluctantly changed and despite himself, became a hero.

I am such a geek.

And yes, kalel0314, you're right... it also worked well as comic relief by showing Han rapidly running out of ideas and using the "take the ball and go home" or "flip the chessboard in frustration" option... a perfect scoundrel.

The only money Lucas would get out of me for this new collection is possibly for A New Hope (I think that is the only one the Special Editions really butchered). Can't see myself really re-investing in Return of the Jedi for the original Nub Nub music at the end. I thought the additions/changes to Empire and Return did not really change the movie too much but added to it.

I really didn't know there were that many differences. The only reason I care is because unless its like a "Director's Cut", I don't really go for it.

What bugs me about the changes they made (specifically, adding Hayden Christensen to the end of Jedi) is how he tried to marry the old movies to the current one. It's just further proof that he NEVER wrote all the movies at the same time, as some rabid fanboys think. Some genius.

I'd prefer to forget about Jar-Jar thank you very much!

Really, he could have just made Episode III and be done with it. That film contained all the IMPORTANT stuff I've always wanted to see.

Since there's so much talk about Star Wars, dig these deleted scenes:

OOoooooh... cool deleted scenes.

For some reason, now I'm thinking of Pete Best and the Beatles... how'd you like to be the folks in those cut scenes?

Hello People!!
Lucas wrote directed(except Empire) and edited the originals. So yes g-even it is a "Director's Cut".

And for anyone who thinks adding a mouth to the Sarlac pit "did not really change the movie too much but added to it" needs to be shot.

Bill:
What they forgot to add to that digitally enhanced Sarlaac was dialogue:
"Feed me! Feed me, Seymour!"

They could have really improved that scene with the addition of a loud, cartoonish "BELCH" sound. Yeah, that would have been an improvement.

Waitaminit. They added that, didn't they?

Sorta like the fart joke in Episode 1. Never in a million years did I think I'd hear a FART JOKE in Star Wars.

I digress...

Yes. Yes they did.

AAAIEEEE, my neck! I think I have whiplash! Again!

No, I think the fart was a guy in the sound booth during production. George Lucas said they all had beans for lunch that day.
