Worst sound effects ever?

Hey, I love Jack Kirby's art and all, but what's going on here? Check this out, from MACHINE MAN #9 (Marvel Comics, 1978):

Wha--? Is this the worst sound effect ever?
And then there's this:

Dowhattowhonow? What does that even mean? I can barely pronounce it!
Although I must admit that these would make awesome T-shirts!

Wow. How do you pronounce that? DZOP! And what makes that sound? It's like SKKRRUNNK! What does that MEAN??
Isn't DZOP! the sound Cool Whip topping makes as is slips off your spoon onto sundry desserts?
What is wrong with you guys? OF COURSE "DZOP" is the sound Cool Whip topping makes as is slips off your spoon onto sundry desserts! But we're talking about "DZOF"! Sheesh.
And, hey, since these words appear in print, can I use them at SCRABBLE™? Because that would rule.
Hey, that does say DZOF! I think the D is almost silent.
I believe that you are mistaken, Bill. Both g-evan and I were correct phonetically. In Kirbyese, the F is pronounced as a P.
This is a subtlety that's been misunderstood for many years.
Kirby had a terrible speech impediment.
He originially meant for the Fantastic Four to be the Pantastic Pour, a comic about a group of superheros working at a local IHOP. Nobody at Marvel could understand a word he said, and history tells the rest!
HAHAHA!!!
The Invisible Girl is the worst waitress in history. She never showed up for work.
The Human Torch is the cook.
Mr. Fantastic...well...NEXT!
The Thing always demanded a good tip OR ELSE!!
dzof is the sound of a static-y towel being layed onto a pile of baking soda
BWAH HA HA HA HA!
g-evan, that is hilarious!
Sorry, just had to let it out.
Hey, I try.
I think amoorefan2 is on to something there... that sounds about right.
Or maybe he's just on something.
Heh.
Oh snap.
