The Weekend Comics Chat Open Thread - the It's All About The Benjamins Edition!

Here we are again... the weekly "open chat" thread. It's where you tell us what you read this week. What did you like? Dislike? Tell us!

I read... next week's WALKING DEAD! I couldn't help it! I love this series and just could not wait a week to read it with my usual stack of books. It's probably about Number 5 in my TOP 10 right now, because it's that rarity among zombie comics... it deals with the repercussions of a world filled with the undead and how the survivors cope with that horrific reality... the REAL walking dead. In every issue, writer Robert Kirkman keeps you on the edge of your seat, with right-angle plot twists that catch the reader completely off guard and wanting more. If you've never read WALKING DEAD, do yourself a favor and try it... it's in the "Next Week's Comics" notebook on the counter. Or, go HERE to Image's website to get a look at complete issues of a bunch of Image Comics titles, including the first issue of WALKING DEAD!
Oh, and your PREVIEWS orders are due this SATURDAY! Make sure to get them in the stores, or call or email if you can't make it in...

runaways is good as usual and the cover art is beautiful for this issue...ultimate fantastic four's team of millar and land wrapped up and was really cool...52's new artist was a nice change and made the book more smooth...fell was crazy based on another real life sicko situation ellis found in the newspaper or something and twisted it...and girls is an addiction i can't stop and the ending is really funny to this issue..
I absolutely cannot wait for Ultimate FF.
Please don't tell me anything...exept, is the ending really something that would make George Romero lose his lunch, like the solicits said?
I find that hard to believe.
I just want to know if that's true, because if it is, Marvel might as well take the ratings off their comics...they don't mean anything anymore.
....Nice little surprise with a big bite: Sharkman! Check it out!
Wow...Ultimate FF #32 was great...I just don't know how the next team is going to top what Millar and Land did...
Im new to the Exterminators! I picked up the trade on an Impulse and have to say I LOVED IT!!! So much that when I went this week to get my STACK I picked up #6#7and#8.(Haven't read them yet)
Very differnt stuff but well written and The art was fantastic. This book is NOT FOR THE KIDDIES BE WARNED. Only thing that I didn't like was the Fat Lady part! Being a Fat guy I found it a little offencive. Just because we are big doesn't mean we EAT ALL the time! They ALWAYS show a large person EATTING! Oh well I will get off my soap box!!! Great Book. I give it 5 chicken legs out of 5!

Haven't read anything amazing besides UFF...but I got two old Wolverines and #2 was good.
craig box13 - I never thought of that... they DO always show fat people eating!
(And the "five chicken legs out of five" bit really cracked me up!)
You know what really geets on my nerves? There are NO CHARACTERS in comic books that are blessed with the coolest body modifications ever, BIRTHMARKS! Long have we, the "birthmark enhanced" fought this injustice - to no avail.
But maybe that's changing... stay tuned for a future announcement...
I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for the announcement!
Hope your Vacation went well.
Can in Sunday and picked up Powers Forever trade. About half way through. GREAT! Oemings art one this one just blows me Away.
And Bill you would be proud of me. I bought the V for Vendetta Hard Cover! Nice! Havn't read it yet!

amoorefan2- you pretty much nailed most of my faves for the week! some of the others i've enjoyed are WASTELAND which is off to a fantastic start for the first
two issues...I highly recommend it...SHARKMAN #1 was good. The adaptation of Clive Barker's THE GREAT AND SECRET SHOW has been amazing....on another note
I personally don't mind Marvel pushing back the CIVIL WAR schedule as much as some, it sucks for retailers more than anyone but I would prefer to see the best quality product possible(with no shoddy fill in artists) and am content to wait for it.(it IS hard to wait though)...at least Marvel told retailers and fans and gave a realistic "revised" shipping schedule so that unlike some titles(yeah ALL STAR BATMAN and ROBIN I'm talking to you) fans don't have to come in week after week asking "where's CVIL WAR...where's AMAZING SPIDERMAN" leaving retailers with no frackin ' clue what to say. this a great time for retailers to introduce some of the new and returning fans coming in for CW to great titles such as "CAPYAIN AMERICA, DAREDEVIL, UNCANNY X-MEN ( or any other book Brubaker is writing) or exiting unrelated titles such as Morrisons BATMAN or THE WALKING DEAD......thet's all for me see ya in Snowtown.
I just caught up on the last two FELLs... what a completely cool book! Complete in ONE ISSUE STORIES, great art and great writing, all for $1.99!
I'm getting that symbol from FELL tattooed on my neck!
