The Greatest Comic Book EVER!

Check THIS out from DC's solicitation:

EXTERMINATORS #11 (MR)

Written by Simon Oliver - Art by Mike Hawthorne - Cover by Philip Bond. Part 1 of the 2-part "Brother #38," featuring guest art by Mike Hawthorne (Queen and Country, Umbra). The mysterious Dr. Saloth reveals an unexpected romantic side as he courts his would-be soul mate, Professor Neal, with some dining al fresco amongst the vermin of the evening. But that's not all he reveals, as Neal awakens hideous secrets from Saloth's long-buried past. On sale November 1 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US MATURE READERS

First off, you should be reading EXTERMINATORS. It's the "Lost Vertigo" title that has slipped under everyone's radar. It's about guys who kill bugs and critters, weird chemicals, black humor, species extinction, and ominous portents for the future, as the latest pesticide that the Bug-Bee-Gone™ boys are using on cockroaches isn't having the desired effect... or is it?

Now. Why is this the Greatest Comic Book Ever? Well, that would be because yours truly is in it. That's right, I finally hit the Big Time! I am a background character in this issue of EXTERMINATORS because Mike Hawthorne (that incredible artist and supreme talent) put me in a couple of panels. You will believe a man can fill a background! Here's how it all started:

ME: "How come you never see people with BIRTHMARKS in comics? That's ANTI-BIRTHMARK bigotry!"

MIKE HAWTHORNE: (stunned silence)

ME: "It's completely unfair! Not all of us are unblemished!"

MIKE HAWTHORNE: "All right, all right, shut up already, I'll see what I can do. Just stop. You sound like an idiot and you're scaring the kids."

ME: "Cool beans!"

So reserve your copy today! That's EXTERMINATORS #11 written by Simon Oliver, with art by Mike Hawthorne and Cover by Philip Bond, featuring the FIRST APPEARANCE OF WILLIAM CHARLES WAHL!

*Phew* I'm all tingly here!

UPDATE: Mike Hawthorne saw this post and helpfully points out

"YOU GOOF! You're in issue #12, not #11!
Mike"

A HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

You know, I'm beginning to HATE visiting the Comix Connection site. You know why?

Cuz everytime I do I find out about YET ANOTHER cool comic book that I should be reading. I swear, I need to get a second job so I can start buying more of this stuff!

DARN YOU BILL! DARN YOU ALL TO HECK!

(BTW - are you now guaranteed a part as a walk-in when they make the inevitable EXTERMINATORS movie?)

craig(box13) - And a two-issue EXTERMINATORS arc by Mike Hawthorne with a bit part by ME, no less! And you're kidding about me signing your comic, right? *blush*

stymieres - I think you'd enjoy EXTERMINATORS, though most issues so far don't have ME in it.

If they ever make an EXTERMINATORS movie, you're darn tootin' they better put ME in it... I'm part of the continuity!

Heh heh heh.
