does this have anything to do with this one thing that happened to this one person in this one comic?

Yep. I didn't want to be too obvious and post a spoiler out on the main page.

I still don't buy it. I give it until, say, wednesday, July Fourth.

I really, really wish Marvel had waited until tomaroow to do a fricken press release, though. I didn't need CNN spoiling the book I was most looking forward to this week.

I'd imagine they're flying off the shelves given all the press coverage. I wonder if any of those new customers will stick around, though, or if it will be like the Superman issue. Some guy delivering furniture to my place saw my Superman collection and tried to impress me that he knew someone that had that issue, and that they had turned down $500 for it. I wonder what they're selling for on eBay.

you were right Bill. **Sniff sniff** I told myself I wasn't gonna cry.

Nothing to do with a press release... once comic stores across the country opened up this morning, the news was out...

craig(box13) - My prediction was off by a comic book or two.

megosteve - I saw some CAP #25s on Ebay for $9.99 But It Now... stop by either Comix Connection and get yours for COVER PRICE (limit 6 copies)...

Whoops! Now there are guys on Ebay selling a "set of both covers" for $69.95 Buy It Now!

Whatevuh, speculator dudes.

Just wait until they come out with the ultra rare 1-1000 sketch platinum holofoil glossy variant 4th printing.

The way Ed B. talks, CW didn't affect his plans for the book at all, so I'm thinking this is more of a 'good timing' thing than anything actually originally planned for the crossover.

Of course, if my July prediction is wrong, this is sure to make World War Hulk a lot more interesting. I've still got my fingers crossed for a defenders reunion, since we know what side of this Namor's gonna be on.

I dunno... I have a feeling this may be more permanent than a couple of months.

Marvel is trying to shake things up, and I think they're succeeding.

Oh by the way, in CIVIL WAR THE INITIATIVE, Ms. Marvel is lying. My prediction.

With Brubaker writing, I have no doubt the story will have long last effects, I just don't think this will be one of them.
One reason is it's just too damn simple of a plan- guys like Doom and Red Skull are like Bond villians- it's never as easy as a bullet to the head! You have to make sure the hero knows you did this. He hasn't even gotten around to using that 'one time use' thing he borrowed from Doom in issue #23 yet.

And from the more cynical part of my brain, Steve can't stay dead long for the same reason Tony can't still be a total jerk a year from now- they've both got movies in production.

Either way, I totally trust Brubaker to make it a good story.

I was just sitting here trying to think of a crappy Ed Brubaker story and I couldn't think of a single one. I first clicked on to him when his "An Accidental Death" came out in DARK HORSE PRESENTS... great stuff.

I think both Frontline 11 and the new Cap. America ended Civil War incredibly well. I was dissappointed with the way #7 ended so abruptly and clean but what happened to Cap is an amazing lead into Initiative and future Marvel if good ol Steve bites it who would make a better cap than ol Winter Soldier? Hmnmmmmm
