DC COMICS BUYS MARVEL!

In a move that shocked industry watchers, New York-based DC Comics, a subdivision of Time-Warner, Inc. reported the purchase of MARVEL COMICS today at a hastily-called press conference. Spokesman Bob Wayne had this to say:

"After much deliberation and followed by negotiations that stretched out over several months, DC Comics is proud to announce the acquisition of long-time competitor Marvel Comics Group, Inc." Wayne further stated "At this point we will begin retiring a slew of characters from Marvel's bloated roster, starting with all characters whose names begin with the letter "P"."

Stan Lee, Editor Emeritus at the now-defunct Marvel Comics had this to say:

"What do I care? Pass me another one of these pink drinks with the fruit hanging out of it."
