A great big THANKS to all of you

... who over the past year put your spare change into the little can we have on the counter at both stores! Where does the money go? Why, to the Comix Connection Beer Fund, of course!

But I'm kidding. The money actually goes to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund or CBLDF. What do they do? Well, their stated mission on their website just about sums it up:
"(The CBLDF) exists to fight censorship and defend the first amendment rights of comic book professionals throughout the United States."
Or as Wikipedia would have it:
"The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund is a United States non-profit organization created in 1986 to protect the First Amendment rights of comics creators, publishers, and retailers covering legal expenses."
There's a pretty good article HERE in Baltimore's CITY PAPER that gives a great overview of their previous successes. They do good work and the money is well-used for legal representation in a notoriously cash-poor industry (that's us!)

Anyway, I just got a US Postal Money Order for

and will be mailing it out tomorrow!

Thank you thank you thank you ALL for donating to this worthy cause!

Hey Bill! Where did everybody go? I'm sittin' here, looking at the last few posts and there are ZERO comments. I haven't been around for a while, but thought I would at least comment about the lack of comments. (That's a lame post isn't it?)

Hi Bill,

Thanks for supporting the Fund! If every shop would do this, imagine the difference it would make in defending comics' free speech rights. Thanks for leading the way with your shop.

You guys are the coolest. I stopped at your booth at the Baltimore Comiccon and had a nice chat with the folks there and HAD to buy one of the Bone T-shirts!

And, the year before that I was able to buy an autographed set of "The Big Kill" by FM at a GREAT price from you guys!

Just doing my part!
