The Weekend Comics Chat Open Thread - The Where Pork Rinds Come From Edition

Soooo... what did you read this (short) week? I didn't read anything yet (except last week's EX MACHINA, which I somehow totally missed.)

I did try a tasty DUFF "BEER" energy drink, and it tasted like all the other energy drinks which means it tasted like SMARTIES spit. But they all taste like that to me... must be a generational thing. OK, I'm exaggerating... it actually has a pretty good orangy flavor. Try one today! Available at both stores!

And I would be remiss in not reminding you all to GO SEE THE RIPOVs TONIGHT AT SMALL'S IN HARRISBURG:

That is all.

I haven't read any comics from this week....yet, but I'm always behind on my read pile anyway. I'm really into the Villians as Heroes storyline in Thunderbolts. Bullseye is one bad ass character. I'm also into Punisher War Journal...I can believe I just said that, but it's true. The Immortal IronFist is good too. Well enough fanboy ranting.

Oh Yeah, pork rinds and mayonnaise are the grossest food inventions...ever.

I've been thinking up quite the plot for a potential Marvel fan film for quite awhile now. It's finally starting to come together. I want to write like the entire thing before I show anybody but it's a Marvel fan film without any major marvel characters. It's too hard to explain without showing the basic synopsis I have so far now:

In the future there is a group of superheroes called ‘The Paladins’. The movie opens with a fight between them and a group of super villains. After an explosion the only surviving villain is blown back in time (Post-Civil War… around death of Captain America, World War Hulk). In this time period he finds his group of villains and tells them what has happened. They locate the will-be ‘Paladins’ throughout the United States and then go after them by posing as S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and trying to get them to register.

Too further explain, the Paladins in this time aren't really going around saving people... and they're nothing compared to what they're suppose to become in the future.

Yeeeah, I have all these ideas running through my head but I want to put them all in where they should be and not just add them in randomly. It will be in the Marvel universe and will reference like everything that is going on, but I don't really think I'll need to use any major Marvel characters(keeps the budget down, too, if I want to actually make the movie)

I really have no idea why I wrote this in a comment... but whaaatever. If you ever want updated on it I wouldn't mind sending you the updated plot.

In other news:

I picked up Loaded Bible 2, which was pretty good, then I picked up my normal stack of Marvel comics. I'm getting pretty hyped up for War World Hulk coming up.

Bill, You've convinced me, please put that MELTDOWN graphic novel in my box! Actually, you may want to hype Sean Wang's website: it features a sweet sneak peek at the Meltdown book.

Ralphie - Yeah, THUNDERBOLTS and PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL are both on my "must read" list.

I don't even know what mayonnaise is. (Don't tell me, let me have some mystery in my life.)

sam! Sounds great! Definitely keep me updated!

I thought for sure WORLD WAR HULK starts this coming week, but I was wrong... probably next next week. I can't wait to see Tony Stark pounded down into a can of spinach by the Hulk, just like in the cartoons...

stymieresh - Duly noted! It ships in about 2 months, so hang in there...
