Iggy in Persepolis

I just caught THIS ARTICLE over at ICV2:

Variety is reporting that Sean Penn and Iggy Pop have joined the English language dub cast of the animated version of Marjane Satrapi's autobiographical graphic novel Persepolis. Penn will provide the voice for Satrapi's father, while Iggy Pop will do the same for her politically active uncle. Other cast members include Gena Rowlands, Catherine Deneuve and Ms. Deneuve's daughter Chiara Mastrioanni, who will voice the movie's central character.

Very cool. Iggy rules. You just cant keep that man down.

And yes, Mister Linnen, this means I will finally have to read both of these. You were right!

You will be a better man for reading them, my friend. I REALLY enjoyed both of those books - and with your interest in both politics and sequential storytelling, I don't see why you wouldn't as well.

I always feel kinda bad when a movie prompts me to finally read a comic book because I usually feel that I should already be familiar with the source material. I remember thinking that when I walked out of "Road to Perdition", "History of Violence", "Ghost World", and "300".

Avoid feeling bad by reading the comics now!
