From the vault - 20th Anniversary Edition Part 9

Here's one of the the few shots I can find of Tim Smith, Comix Connection's first Store Manager, apparently hard at work maintaining subscriptions on the old computer! Tim was instrumental in managing the store (which he did incredibly well and efficiently) at a time when we were learning all the various processes of running a retail business. He was a true champ and put up with a lot of Comix Connection's early growing pains. Timmy was the York store manager when we were in the "down the long hallway" location, and also when we moved to the "spaghetti factory" location across from the UA Theaters. He eventually joined the Army and was a loader on a tank crew, then moved out to New Mexico (I think) to become a state trooper! Tim, if you're out there, thanks for all the excellent work all those years ago!

Here I am Bill! It has been a loong strange road from being one of the first 'official' Comix Connection lackeys. (IE paid employees) I've been reading the recent entries here about the 20th anniversary and gettin' all misty-eyed remembering the good ol' days.

Working at CCY and even Camp Hill was a great time I had a lot of fun and learned a whole lot of useless info at the same time.. :)

Oh, and just to update everyone... I served 4 years on active duty in the Army, I got my E-5 (sergeant) and ended my tour as a tank gunner. I settled in New Mexico near the Four Corners and am a deputy sheriff for the San Juan County Sheriff's Office. I'm also in the Army Reserve and am an instructor for radio and computer stuff.

TIMMY (TANKER) SMITH! How's it going? Four Corners, huh? That's awesome! Pretty cool country out there in New Mexico. A deputy sheriff is kinda like a superhero, right? Bad guys and stuff. Man, whoda thunk? I am never making fun of you ever again.
