Incredible Winsor McCay movie from 1911!

Yes, that's actually fabled newspaper strip artist Winsor McCay in a film about him making a short animated movie of LITTLE NEMO in 1911! Just incredibly cool. And if you've never read LITTLE NEMO IN SLUMBERLAND or DREAMS OF A RAREBIT FIEND, what are you waiting for? We can getcha that!

McCay's film from 1911 and his 1906 film, Dream of the Rarebit Fiend, are available on DVD on a really cool collection Kino Video put out called, The Movies Begin. It's an amazing set! Collecting 133 different films, this set is the coolest and most comprehensive set I've ever bought on early film. Kino Video is one of those rare companies producing DVDs, like Criterion and Flicker Alley, that are doing so much to restore and preserve films for new generations to discover.
