For that hard-to-buy-for comic fan
How about a "Comic Mesh Baseball Cap"?

No, I don't want one... I find it hard to destroy comics on purpose. I accidentally remove a few comic books from the existing pile every year due to unfortunate tape accidents.
At least these are made from recycled stuff.

Thanksgiving

I give thanks that Ben Franklin didn't have his way because I would feel weird eating the national symbol of the United States of America, although apparently Franklin wasn't really serious. Thank goodness. Now pass the gravy, the creamed onions, the oyster stuffing and a nice slice of that pumpkin pie!

From an article in The Washington Post:
Stan Lee, who helped create hundreds of comic book superheroes, including "Spider-Man," and Olivia de Havilland, 92, who was nominated for an Academy Award in 1939 for her portrayal of Melanie Hamilton in "Gone With the Wind," were among the recipients of the National Medal of Arts and the National Humanities Medal at the White House yesterday.

Drawings by a seven year old boy from the 12th Century

I found THIS ARTICLE utterly fascinating.
I can barely even imagine what it was like growing up in Medieval Novgorod, but this collection of drawings by a little boy who lived then and there gives me some insight. Thanks for doodling, Onfim.

A reminder

This is a brief reminder to everyone of Comix Connection's Subscription Box policies. As you are probably aware, if you buy comic books on a regular basis and want to be certain that you don't miss any of your favorite titles, we PULL them when they come in on delivery days and HOLD them for you until you come in and pick them up! There is NO CHARGE for the service and we pull our subscriber's orders BEFORE we put the new books on the shelves... this ensures that the subscriber's orders are filled first.
Just a couple of points:
1) We ask that the comic books you requested to have held for you be picked up at least ONCE EVERY FIVE WEEKS. If you do not pick your comics up in a timely manner, we will attempt to call you to see when you are planning on picking them up. If you do not appear within SIX WEEKS, we may put your box on hold or cancel your subscription box and put any comics that we held for you back on the racks for general sale. Subscription boxes will be reinstated on a case-by-case basis. YOU NEED TO KEEP YOUR PHONE NUMBER CURRENT with us! Please check with the Staff to see if all your information is up-to-date!
2) Additionally, anything "Special Ordered" through the PREVIEWS catalog (T-shirts, toys, graphic novels, statues, etc.) will also be held for you when it arrives - you will be notified of its arrival by a NOTE in your Subscription Box. These "Special Orders" also need to be picked up WITHIN FIVE WEEKS of their arrival. If they are not picked up in a timely manner, they may be returned to the racks for anyone to purchase, and you will lose your ability to place Special Orders with Comix Connection without a deposit.
Again, this is just a reminder to all subscribers. Thanks for your business, and we will continue to do our best to serve all of you!

New SANDMAN comic on the racks!
Yep, it's been a long time since we've had new SANDMAN comics by Neil Gaiman. (Well, technically not new, as this was previously released ten years ago as a novella with illustrations by Yoshitaka Amano.) Behold SANDMAN: THE DREAM HUNTERS, a four-issue comic mini-series by Neil Gaiman and illustrator P. Craig Russel, new in the stores this week:

Just go read it, it's fantastic.

Yes, X-Rays from Scotch Tape:

Halloween Sale Recap Comix Connection - York!
Huck Finn/Tom Sawyer and Spider-boy came by to claim some free bees, and to scare off any riff raff. Huck/Tom was happy because it didn't involve any whitewashing.
Everything was good and we had our usual morning sales rush. So one of the cops from Chips, Rorschach, a Skrull invader and an average man decided to do a celebratory dance!
Ned embraced change after seeing how much he and the Skrull both loved the Village People dance.
But oh no...a fight broke out!
With election day so close tensions were high.
And then out of nowhere a Mexican wrestler!
Then Spider-Baby showed up and reminded us that we are the adults and we need to be good examples for the impressionable youngsters out there...because with great comic sales comes great retail responsibility!
And to show you that Comix Connections sales bring people happiness and bring people together Wolverine and Rorschach took a photo together.
Thanks again to everyone who came out!
