I think John Carpenter's THE THING is one of my favorite movies by him, along with ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK and CHRISTINE. We used to joke that EVERY SINGLE ONE of his self-composed soundtracks all sounded the same because he did them all on a cheap Casio keyboard on the same weekend. The song to this video is definitely an homage to Carpenter's songs, and sounds like one of his rejected tunes.

That was pretty sweet... gonna have to check the net sometime to see some of the other winners in the past. I loved the music!
I didn't know John Carpenter did his own soundtracks as well.
