Manager Jared's Weekly Matchup Poll #5

Let the arrows fly! And the votes!

Clint Barton (Hawkeye) was an orphan, and ran away from the orphanage as a pre-teen to join the circus as a carnival performer, where he was trained in the use of the bow and arrow. Eventually, he got really freakin' good!

Oliver Queen (Green Arrow) was a millionaire who was pushed off his yacht one day by someone and he ended up on a deserted island. He built a bow-and-arrow from some old generator parts and learned to hunt. Eventually, he too got really freakin' good!


Their powers? They shoot arrows really freakin' good! They both have martial arts training and trick arrows. They are both skilled acrobats.

I'm going with Green Arrow. While Clint used with talents with a bow to entertain at a circus, Ollie developed his skills to survive. You take that, Ollie's fierce will to beat overwhelming odds in many of the fights he's in and you got a winner. Plus, Ollie has access to a Green Lantern power ring and has proven himself capable of wielding it.

And he's not afraid to do what needs to be done to win, even if that means shooting your best friend in the chest.

I know very little about these characters, so going by the descriptions I went with Hawkeye because when it comes down to it I'm going to give the advantage to the runaway carnie over the rich guy who once fell off a boat.

I voted for Green Arrow because he has an Arrowcar, an Arrowplane, an Arrowcave and an Arrowsignal.

And I just wanted to point out that both characters have much more background stories than "runaway carny" and "boat-faller-offer"...

(I wonder if the goofily-named Clint Barton knew of the Flying Graysons?)

I voted Green Arrow because his name is green arrow...I think that "rich guy" identity was quickly lost soon after his life became dependent on how well he shot the bow and arrow...his life and identity is now THE ARROW!
