Manager Jared's Weekly Matchup Poll #6 Brought to you by Stretch Armstrong!

If you can, try to "wrap" your head around this doozy!
Both of these heroes are part of famous teams. Plastic Man is a sometimes member of the Justice League of America and Mister Fantastic is the front man of the Fantastic Four!

The Contender's Powers:

Mister Fantastic (Reed Richards): Genius level intellect, he has the ability to convert his entire body into a highly malleable state at will, allowing him to stretch, deform, and reform himself into virtually any shape and is said to have an "elastic consciousness".

Plastic Man (Patrick "Eel" O'Brian): Can stretch and shape his highly resilient body into any shape he can imagine, even ones with moving parts. Immune to telepathy due to "elastic consciousness".

(Stretch Armstrong voted for himself!)

Don't forget to tell us why you voted the way you did in the comments section! Its easy, free, and commitment free!

The genius level intellect is going to dominate here. I'm sure Reed Richards has fought himself from other dimensions and is more than prepared to K.O. a goofy nut like Plastic Man!

While I have enormous respect for Reed's intellect, I think it will work against him in this instance. Throw the personification of Order at the personification of Chaos and all bets are off. While Reed is insanely intelligent, how often do we see him utilize his powers in a creative way? Coming up with machines and gizmos is great, but when it comes down to power versus power, Plas has this one all wrapped up. And tied up with a bow on it for that matter.

Plastic Man just doesn't care, he's in it because it's fun, and that's what makes him so unpredictable. I think Batman summed it up nicely when he stated Plastic Man was the most powerful being on the planet.

Batman said that because hes virtually invulnerable...not because hes powerful,(strength and skill). BUT we're looking at a fight to submission between two beings who may not be able to be killed. Reed has dealt with things so "unpredictable" and beat them before because hes so smart he can either predict the unpredictable or he will find another way! Either way he will outsmart Plastic Man and beat him.

My last stance (from

His semi-liquid form remains stable at relatively high and low temperatures, provided that the temperature change is gradual. A sudden change induces a complete change of state, creating a truly solid or truly liquid form. Plastic Man was incapacitated in the JLA story arc "Tower of Babel" when mercenaries froze and shattered his body. In the JLA story arc "Divided We Fall", Plastic Man is shown to have some weakness to extreme heat and was temporarily melted. In some versions, Plastic Man is also vulnerable to chemicals such as acetone, which melts and destabilizes his putty-like form.

Doesn't take much creativity!

"Learn yourself!"

Relax Jared, it's just an opinion poll.

I chose Plastic Man for two reasons: 1. To tick off Jared. 2. I just don't like Reed Richards. I can't explain it, but I just can't connect with his character... Meanwhile, Plastic Man is just silly fun. Anyone remember that miniseries from the lat 80's from Hilary Barta. What a blast! Love her art on that!

WHOOPS! HIS art on that!

I chose Mister Fantastic for two reasons: 1. To make Jared happy :) (it's my vote y'all!) 2. I'm just more convinced by the comments that Mr. F would win. (Your comments help those of us who don't know much about the characters decide- convince me people!)

Does Reed have internal organs? I've never been sure of that. I know Plas doesn't (hence his ability to survive being shattered and scattered across the ocean floor for 3,000 years).

I went with Plas because I think he has slightly fewer physical limitations than Reed. Reed seems to have a finite limit to how thin he can make himself, whereas Plas does not seem to have any limits. While Reed could undoubtedly think rings around Plastic Man, I just think Plastic Man is nuts enough to outside-the-box ol' Reed. Add that to the fact that I am a diehard DC guy, and for me it has to be Plastic Man.

Gods, listen to us getting our geek on over such silliness! I love it!

If this was Ralph Dibney vs Reed Richards, I would have went with Reed. Plastic Man is much more versitile, and much crazier. That would be the winning factor. I go with Plastic Man.

I agree with Tom about Plas. I think he would just out-stretch Reed because I have never seen Plastic Man have an upwards limit to his stretchiness unlike Reed who has been shown to have an upward limit. Plas would just grab onto Reed and pull until he was past his limit. This would not give Reed the time to grab a cooking or freezing gadget to stop him.
