A new potentially habitable planet has been discovered... shall we call it Earth 2?

Looks like we may have new neighbors:
After years of saying habitable exoplanets are just around the corner, planet hunters have finally found one. Gliese 581g is the first planet found to lie squarely in its star’s habitable zone, where the conditions are right for liquid water.

Read more HERE.

There's gotta be a better name for it than "Gliese 581g" though... any suggestions?

That is one of the most amazing articles you have ever posted Bill- how cool is that?? Interesting bits to read in there- temperature variations seem considerable and there appear to only be potential living zones whereas the entire planet couldn't be inhabited.

Now, lets get the government out of space travel and put it in the hands of entrepenuers and get out and get going!!

This article begs the question- barring the 20 light year travel time, would you go to the planet?

And yes, I believe Stinkbugs already live there!!!
