Comix Connection's Halloween Food Drive!

As noted on this very 'blog a few days ago, Comix Connection is hosting a costume contest during it's THREE DAY HALLOWEEN EXTRAORDINARIGANZA on Saturday, October 29th through Monday, October 31st! As a bonus addition to the already spectacular sale discounts, if you come into either store in costume (more than just a mask and a hat please, be creative!) you will receive an additional 5% discount on top of these other featured discounts! Read more about that HERE!

Well, in addition to all that cool goodness, we'd like to ask something of you. Won't you help us gather food items for the York Rescue Mission at Comix Connection - York and the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank at Comix Connection - Mechanicsburg? As a way to spur donations, we at Comix Connection will enter you in a Fabulous Prize Drawing, one entry for each IN-DATE food item donated. (Please note: all donated food items must be at least three months in-date to be accepted!) Donate 2 cans of soup, get two entries into the prize drawing. Donate 136 boxes of instant mashed potatoes, get 136 entries! (How about donating some gravy, huh?)

We'll be adding to the Loot Hoard, but here's a sample of the Fabulous Prizes we're giving away at each store:

A BATMAN Statue by Tony Daniels
Comix Connection Gift Cards
An in-stock T-Shirt of your choice
Collected editions/graphic novels

and more to be announced!

So please help us help hungry Pennsylvanians... it'll help make some peoples' Halloween a bit less scary.

I know all stuff is welcome but what are some things the food bank doesn't receive enough of?

Good question! Here's what I got from the food bank's website:

Non-perishable items like these are the most valuable:

Canned tuna
Canned meats and stews
Peanut butter
Canned fruits and vegetables
Packaged meals
Packaged pasta and rice
Canned and dried beans
Pure fruit and vegetable juices
Baby food, cereal and formula

The main thing is that ALL ITEMS MUST BE AT LEAST TWO MONTHS OUT to give the food bank time to process the items!
