This news makes me happy

One of my favorite comic books, CRIMINAL by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips is set to be made into a movie! See HERE for news on a COWARD movie!

The series' story arcs are self-contained and focus on different characters, but these central characters inhabit the same world, grew up in fictional Center City, frequent the same bar, and share a common history of two generations of crime. With his partner Ivan, Tommy Patterson ran the city's most proficient crew of pickpockets and taught the trade to his eight-year-old son, Leo. When Tommy was arrested and imprisoned for the murder of Teeg Lawless, Ivan took care of Leo and explained to him how following certain rules can keep a criminal "out in the world," out of both prison and the morgue.

Around the same time, Teeg Lawless' two sons were arrested. While his fifteen-year-old brother Ricky was sent to a juvenile work camp, Tracy Lawless was given the option of going to prison or enlisting in the armed forces. Tracy joined the U.S. Army, abandoning Ricky but honing his skills as a soldier.

CRIMINAL is probably my current favorite comic book, along with Brubaker and Phillips' INCOGNITO, but I'm not going to go on and on about this because you've probably heard me do so at the store... suffice it to say, this is some good comic books and should make a great film! The Greatest Pop Culture Catalog In The Entire Universe

I'm not sure if you're aware of this but good old York, Pennsylvania harbors quite possibly the greatest catalog of pop culture memorabilia and ephemera existing today. Catalog #204 just opened and you can go to the Hake's Americana & Collectibles website HERE and check out the amazing offerings that Hake's manages to assemble several times a year! Go take a look... it's amazing in the true sense of the word. You will be amazed. Here's just a few things that caught my eye:

An early Broadway Rocky Horror Picture Show poster!

A vintage 1940s-era SUPERMAN sweater vest!

An enormous painting of NEXUS and cast by artist Steve Rude that used to hang in the Capital City (comics distributor) office's lobby!
